CANADIAN SCIENCE POLICY CENTRE SPONSORS 15TH VOLUME OF JOURNAL OF SCIENCE POLICY & GOVERNANCE

Washington, DC – The Journal of Science Policy & Governance (JSPG), an international non-profit and peer-reviewed publication managed by and for students and early career researchers, is proud to announce the release of Volume 15 sponsored by the Canadian Science Policy Centre (CSPC), a pan-Canadian hub of multi-sector experts focused on science, technology, and innovation policy.
Volume 15 represents one of the most extensive editions of the Journal with 18 articles that span from op-eds warning of antifungal resistance in agriculture and healthcare to policy memos addressing implicit bias in artificial intelligence. Early career researchers—both undergraduate and postgraduate—across a variety of academic disciplines address some of the most topical issues in science and technology policy, including the opioid crisis, climate change, genetic engineering, and the state of research and development investments.
“At a time where technology and science are rapidly evolving, both JSPG & CSPC share the mission of enabling early career researchers to translate their expert knowledge in a field science into actionable policies,” said Shalin Jyotishi, CEO of JSPG.
The CSPC sponsored volume, which celebrates a decade impact of the centre, launches on the same week of the 11th Annual Canadian Science Policy Conference from 13th-15th November held in Ottawa, Ontario. The event will examine policy, society, security, and economic development by hosting 900 participants, 56 sessions, and over 260 speakers from across Canada and the globe—including JSPG staff and partners.
“As an open-access, peer-reviewed publication, we see JSPG as an outstanding medium that aligns with our mission of inclusivity, openness, rigor, youth engagement, and intellectual independence, ” said Mehrdad Hariri, CEO & President of CSPC. “We hope by promoting JSPG at our conference we can further expand perspectives and increase international collaborations between researchers to provide dynamic policy solutions to pressing societal issues.”
